Our client is seeking an experienced Fixed Plant Fitter for their exciting nickel operation in WA. They are a global base metals company, operating long-life mines in several countries and employing approximately 20,000 people worldwide.
Job Requirements:
- Cert III - Mechanical Fitting;
- Crane, Dogging, EWP, First Aid and Forklift - desirable;
- Previous mine site experience;
- Exposure to Microsoft Office Programs;
- Well-developed time management and communication skills.
Position Duties:
- Maintain a working knowledge of all task instructions and procedures to ensure that these are consistently adhered to when carrying out maintenance tasks;
- Demonstrate full compliance with the OHS and Environmental Management Systems by developing and participating in initiatives, toolbox meetings, investigations, training, assisting with the implementation/contributing to audits;
- Evaluate associated risks and hazards of each task prior to the commencement to ensure safe working environment and the utilization of correct equipment;
- Report all safety hazards, environmental hazards, incidents, damage, breakdowns and potential plant or equipment stoppages;
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping to contribute towards a safe work environment and efficient operation of the facilities;
- Complete all administrative processing requirements associated with maintenance duties - requisitioning of parts and materials, processing of maintenance orders, recording of labour time, etc.
