Our client is a Western Australian ASX-listed gold exploration company with a significant high-grade deposit located in a major gold-producing district. As operations continue to grow, they are now seeking a qualified and proactive Senior OHS Advisor / Underground Trainer to join the team on a FIFO basis from Perth, working an 8/6 roster;
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and promote a strong safety-first culture across site;
- Ensure WHS accountabilities and commitments are understood by all personnel and contractors;
- Review and maintain key WHS documentation including hazard management plans, procedures, and risk assessments;
- Lead and coordinate emergency response activities and drills;
- Assist with developing and delivering site-specific training packages and assessments;
- Provide leadership and support in workplace incident investigations (ICAM desirable);
- Drive continuous improvement and positive HSEQ outcomes across the operation;
Position Duties:
- Promote and enforce a proactive health and safety culture across site;
- Ensure WHS responsibilities are clearly communicated and understood by all employees and contractors;
- Review and update WHS documentation, including principal mining hazard management plans, procedures, and risk assessments;
- Deliver practical, on-site safety training tailored to underground mining operations;
- Maintain the site training matrix and training records to ensure up-to-date compliance;
- Collaborate with supervisors and department heads to address safety concerns and training needs;
- Liaise with external auditors, inspectors, and relevant stakeholders as required;
