Our client is an ASX-listed gold exploration and development company with control over a 1.7Moz gold project. Their processing plant is currently operating at 300tph, and they are seeking a Senior Metallurgist to join their team on a short-term contract basis (potentially up to 6 months).FIFO Perth,
Requirements:
- Degree in Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering or equivalent;
- Current WA Manual Driver’s License;
- High Level of understanding with Metallurgy accounting;
- Understanding of gold room & gravity circuits;
- Ability to run small projects as required;
- Communication skills, running meetings, discussing KPIs during handovers, training & explaining gold processing to operators;
- Ability to lead and mentor a team of supervisors and operators;
Position Duties:
- Consult metallurgy and operations teams to ensure process plant is operating efficiently and effectively to meet production targets;
- Ensure collection and reporting of plant data is maintained through quality systems and data entry is completed as per requirements;
- Ensure adherence to Gold Room security protocol, and security systems are functional and maintained;
- Liaise with Mining and Geology departments as required to ensure ore haulage and grade delivered to ROM pad aligns with processing schedule;
- Measure and manage reagent consumption rates through daily tracking and forecasting, look for economic savings through process control and design improvements;
- Attend operations prestart meetings, advise on production outputs and targets and provide relevant guidance
- Communicate with maintenance team, ensure critical maintenance activities are prioritised and assist with planning to ensure alignment with production requirements;
- Assist Process Manager with compilation of monthly processing forecast schedule to best align with budget, communicate forecast targets with operations and maintenance teams
