Our client, a significant nickel producer, is looking for an experienced Contract Senior OP Mine Surveyor to join their team on the beautiful south coast of Western Australia.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing total surveying solutions in support of the day-to-day mining operations and meeting statutory requirements and contractual obligations.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Mining and Mineral Technology (Surveying or equivalent);
- Holder of a Grade 2 Authorised Mine Surveyor’s Certificate;
- Must hold a current WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence;
- Remote Pilot’s Licence and UAV operational experience required;
- Excellent practical planning and prioritising skills;
- Exposure to machine guidance/control systems is essential.
Position Duties:
- Managing the delivery of accurate 3D spatial data and services within the mine lease;
- Providing and ensuring reliable survey controls to the mining operations and conducting surveys on-site infrastructure as may be required;
- Project planning for UAV surveys - to include areas to be mapped, target implementation, horizontal and vertical datum controls;
- Implement any necessary slope monitoring control for the open pit operation in accordance with the Mining Safety and Inspections Act of WA;
- End-of-month volumetric surveys (mining, blast volumes, long-term stockpiles, ROM, clearing and topsoil stripping);
- Scheduling and prioritising survey tasks and liaising between the technical department and mining contractor;
- Establishing, extending and verifying the Survey Control network to a high standard and in keeping with the regulatory accuracy and requirements;
- Facilitate the development and training of mine surveyors and survey technicians;
Experience
6+ years’ experience working in open pit mines, coupled with practical surveying and leadership experience.
