Our Client is one of the world's leading natural resources group. They are seeking the services of a Commissioning Safety Manager for their Project in Asia. This can be a residential role or a FIFO role with a competitive remuneration package discussed at interview. Position Description: The Commissioning Safety Manager is accountable to the Project Commissioning Manager and will provide a critical role by managing Commissioning HSE function of the project. Key Accountabilities: Assist commissioning managers to develop clear HSE commissioning plans by reviewing site drawings, site documents and performing gap analyses using the Companies Corporate Safety management system. Assist in the implementation of the HSE commissioning plan and procedures for staff and contractors by developing and conducting site specific induction programs for all personnel related to commissioning. Assist in the creation of safe worksites by addressing all Health, Safety and Environment issues relating to commissioning in conjunction with Commissioning Manager, Project Manager and Project HSE Manager. Communicate HSE commissioning daily plans and other relevant information by conducting and participating in daily pre-start meetings, induction programs, and toolbox meetings. Maintain Company compliance with relevant HSE guidelines onsite by performing audits and inspections as required, setting up hazardous substances/plant registers as required for the commissioning process. Comply with all of Company's corporate policies and procedures by adopting Quality Assurance and Occupational Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements. Conduct accident and incident investigations of any breaches of the commissioning plan or procedures. Mentors and guides nationals to transfer knowledge and improve local skill sets. Leads by example. Professional Qualities: Min 10-15 years Commissioning and Construction HSE experience on large capital projects preferably Mineral Process Plants Technically Qualified in HSE matters e.g. NEBOSH, plus engineering degree Cultural awareness Previous experience in an expatriate role, preferably in Central Asia Previous experience in the FSU will be highly regarded Cold weather experience, preferably in remote areas- as temperatures range from +30 C to - 40 C.
