An established Western Australian gold mining operation is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to join its underground Technical Services team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Mining Engineer with strong underground planning and scheduling experience to contribute to the development and optimisation of mine plans and production schedules.
The Role
Working as part of the Technical Services team, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining underground mine plans and schedules
- Short- and medium-term mine planning
- Underground mine design and development planning
- Stope design and sequencing
- Preparing and maintaining 13-week production schedules
- Supporting production and development targets
- Reviewing and coordinating drill & blast designs
- Identifying and managing critical-path activities
- Integrating mine planning with production, development, ventilation and geotechnical requirements
- Preparing planning documentation, forecasts and reports
- Working closely with Underground Operations, Geology, Geotechnical, Ventilation and Technical Services teams
- Identifying opportunities to improve mine design, sequencing and operational performance
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering
- Strong underground hard-rock mining experience
- Previous experience in Underground Planning or Production Engineering
- Demonstrated experience with underground mine design and scheduling
- Strong Deswik capability, particularly:
- Deswik CAD
- Deswik UGDB
- Deswik Sched
- Experience developing short- and medium-term mine plans
- Strong understanding of underground production and development requirements
- Good knowledge of drill & blast principles
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Current C-Class driver's licence
3MS Experience – Preferred
Experience with 3MS would be highly regarded.
Candidates with previous 3MS planning/scheduling experience are encouraged to apply, particularly those who can demonstrate practical application of the system within an underground mining environment.
