An established Underground gold mining operation in Western Australia is seeking an experienced Underground Planning Engineer to join its Technical Services team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Planning Engineer with underground experience to join a well-established operation and play a key role in delivering practical mine plans that support safe and efficient production.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop short, medium and long-term underground mine plans.
- Complete mine scheduling, production planning and development sequencing.
- Develop and maintain mine designs in line with operational requirements.
- Work closely with Mining Engineers, Geology, Survey and Production teams.
- Optimise development and production schedules to maximise operational performance.
- Monitor plan compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with life-of-mine planning and strategic mine development.
- Prepare mine plans, schedules, reports and technical documentation.
- Provide technical support to Underground Management and operational teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across the Technical Services function.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
- Previous underground hard-rock mining experience.
- Demonstrated experience in underground mine planning and scheduling.
- Strong knowledge of underground mining methods and mine design principles.
- Experience with Deswik or similar mine planning and scheduling software.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with operational and technical stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of safety and statutory requirements within WA underground mining.
