An exciting opportunity is available for a Planning Engineer to join a growing underground gold operation in Western Australia.
This is a hands-on planning role for an engineer who enjoys being close to the operation and wants to have a genuine impact on mine design, development, production and short-to-medium-term planning. You’ll work closely with the wider Technical Services and Mining teams to develop practical plans that translate into safe and achievable production outcomes.
The Role
- Develop and maintain short and medium-term mine plans
- Prepare detailed mine designs, schedules and production plans
- Coordinate underground development and production planning
- Assist with mine sequencing and production optimisation
- Monitor actual performance against plan and identify improvement opportunities
- Work closely with Operations, Geology, Geotechnical and Ventilation teams
- Provide technical planning support to underground operations
- Ensure plans are practical, achievable and aligned with operational requirements
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
- 3+ years' underground mining experience
- Experience in underground mine planning and scheduling
- Strong understanding of underground mining methods and production processes
- Experience with Deswik and/or similar mine planning software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and stakeholder management abilities
- WA underground gold mining experience highly regarded
