Our client, an ASX 200-listed Perth-based gold production and exploration company with a proven management team and a successful track record of developing mid-sized gold operations, is looking for a Senior Underground Mining Engineer to join its team.

Requirements;

  • Current WA class C manual driver's licence;
  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering;
  • WA First class mine manager’s certificate of competency (preferred but not essential);
  • Advanced computer skills required for mine planning, D&B, scheduling, e.g. Surpac, Deswik;

Position Duties:

  • Short to medium term mine planning activities;
  • Monitoring progress against plan/budget and reporting significant deviations;
  • Examining mining methods and equipment to improve performance;
  • Overseeing and approving drill and blast plans;
  • Monitoring and simulation of mine ventilation and dewatering network;
  • Supervising the activities of lesser-experienced mining engineers and other technical staff;
  • Ensuring development and infrastructure designs are practical and cost-effective;
  • Develop and maintain electronic and other filing systems for mine planning, design and
    construction;
  • Conduct project work as directed by the Underground leadership group as required;
Experience
Over 7 years underground mining operational experience in an underground hard rock environment
