The company said heavy earthmoving equipment has mobilised and access clearing has started. The initial program includes access-road works, site establishment, topsoil management and planned overburden removal, and is scheduled to run through late November 2026.
Minbos' operating subsidiary has engaged CABMINAS for preparatory earthworks. The agreement also covers later selective phosphate excavation, stockpile management and haulage to the Subantando Plant, while Minbos retains site direction and technical oversight including mine planning, grade control and metallurgical classification.
Minbos said the preparatory works are intended to support a subsequent extraction campaign for planned Subantando Plant commissioning in 2027. The company noted that phosphate extraction and haulage remain subject to applicable approvals and operational readiness, while it continues engagement with Angolan authorities on outstanding regulatory and contractual arrangements.
Separately, Minbos said mechanical assemblies, chutes, ducting and chimney modules fabricated in Portugal were in transit to the Port of Cabinda, with civil infrastructure and equipment support footings at Subantando being readied for incoming modules.
