Nordic reports 1.52Moz AuEq Kopsa resource estimate

Nordic Resources has announced an updated, pit-constrained JORC 2012 resource for its Kopsa deposit in Finland of 44.0Mt at 1.07g/t gold equivalent for 1.52Moz AuEq, using a 0.4g/t AuEq cutoff grade. The company calculated gold-equivalent grades using stated gold, copper and silver price assumptions and metallurgical recovery factors.

The company said 86% of the Kopsa resource reports to the Measured and Indicated categories, while 97% of the in-situ resource was captured within the optimised pit shell. It said the estimate includes drilling completed and reported to the end of July 2026, including 9,631m of diamond drilling over the preceding 12 months.

Nordic said a 12,000m drilling program is under way, with most drilling directed at expanding Kopsa where mineralisation remains open in most directions and at depth. The company expects to incorporate campaign results into a further Kopsa resource estimate anticipated in the second quarter of 2027; subject to updated resource results, it expects Kopsa could advance to a scoping study.
