Critica releases Jupiter rare earths scoping study

The study uses an 8.0 Mtpa processing design basis for near-surface rare earth mineralisation and envisages beneficiation and downstream hydrometallurgical processing to produce mixed rare earth carbonate. Critica reported an updated Mineral Resource of 1.7 billion tonnes at 1,700 ppm TREO, including 160 million tonnes of Indicated Mineral Resources.

Using a 1,500 ppm TREO plant-feed cut-off, the Scoping Study Production Target comprises about 107.3 million tonnes of plant feed at approximately 1,879 ppm TREO. Processing is scheduled over about 14 years, with approximately 96.6% of scheduled plant feed derived from Indicated Mineral Resources and 3.4% from Inferred Mineral Resources.

Critica said the Scoping Study is preliminary and is not sufficient to support an Ore Reserve estimate or assure an economic development case. The company identified a Pre-Feasibility Study as the next development stage and said funding needs would arise as the project advances; no binding offtake, strategic investment or project financing arrangements had been entered into.
