OzAurum Resources has completed drilling and construction of two production water bores at the Mulgabbie North Gold Project. The company said the bores, located within 1.5km of the proposed heap-leach facility, are intended to support Stage 1 water requirements, with further pump-flow testing planned for Stage 2 process-water requirements.
The company said five approvals have been granted and a Poisons Permit has been lodged. Listed approvals include water abstraction of 450,000kL per year, works approval for crushing and heap-leach processing at 150,000 tonnes per year, environmental approval for a mining development of less than 10ha, an open-pit mining operational notification, and a dangerous goods licence.
Record September rainfall delayed site civil works and transport of the heap-leach agglomeration plant, OzAurum said. The company also plans to begin fresh-rock heap-leach metallurgical testwork shortly; it said inclusion of fresh material in Stages 2 and 3 remains subject to successful testwork.
OzAurum said final results from the MNODH 022 paleochannel column test are expected in coming weeks and will be used in scoping-study and mine-planning work. The company cautioned that preliminary metallurgical results from the column have not yet been confirmed by further analysis.
