True North extends Mt Oxide copper shoot to 300 metres depth

New drilling at the Aquila discovery has extended a high-grade copper-cobalt-silver shoot by approximately 100 metres and confirmed that the system remains open at depth.

Broad mineralisation with higher-grade zones

True North Copper has reported results from three holes at the Aquila copper-cobalt-silver discovery within its Mt Oxide Project near Cloncurry in north-west Queensland.

The leading intersection was 130 metres at 0.67% copper, 0.07% cobalt and 1.50 grams per tonne silver from 180 metres. This included 44 metres at 1.54% copper and 16 metres at 3.67% copper, with a higher-grade interval of 6 metres at 5.70% copper, 0.07% cobalt and 8.2 grams per tonne silver from 295 metres.

Other results included 74 metres at 0.73% copper from 159 metres and 31 metres at 0.90% copper and 0.37% cobalt from 68 metres. The company says the broader mineralised system has an estimated true width of approximately 40 to 60 metres and contains distinct higher-grade shoots.

Why it matters

The latest drilling extends Aquila's northern high-grade shoot by about 100 metres, from approximately 200 metres to 300 metres below surface. Mineralisation continues beneath the interpreted induced-polarisation anomaly and remains open at depth.

Aquila forms part of a mineralised trend extending approximately 1.8 kilometres along strike at Mt Oxide. Drilling has so far tested about 750 metres of strike and identified two higher-grade shoots.

The results improve the geological case for continued exploration and technical work, but Aquila remains a discovery-stage project. The announcement does not establish a Mineral Resource, development decision or employment program.

Next steps

True North plans to release further assays from Aquila, Aquila North, Apollo and Acanthis over coming months. Drilling will continue along strike and at depth to refine the geometry and continuity of the higher-grade zones.

The company also plans regional exploration across Mt Oxide and further technical studies, metallurgy and geological modelling. These workstreams support ongoing activity for drilling contractors, field teams, laboratories and technical consultants while the project is evaluated.
