LD18558 - Contract Geologist with WHS S26 - Flexible Roster

Our client, an emerging Western Australian resources company, is seeking an experienced Contract Geologist to support an active drilling program near Nifty.

This is an immediate short-term contract through to the end of 2026, with flexible roster options available. For the right candidate, there is also potential to transition into a longer-term position following the initial contract.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

Supervise RC and diamond drilling programs;
Manage drilling contractors and coordinate daily rig activities;
Complete geological logging of RC chips and diamond core;
Oversee sampling and ensure appropriate QA/QC procedures are maintained;
Monitor drilling progress and communicate operational matters to the senior technical team;
Maintain accurate geological, sampling and drilling records;
Coordinate field personnel and support the safe delivery of drilling programs;
Ensure all activities comply with site safety and environmental requirements; and
Prepare daily and weekly drilling updates and technical reports as required.

About You

To be considered, you will require:

A tertiary qualification in Geology, Earth Science or a related discipline;
A current WHS Section 26 certification;
Demonstrated experience supervising RC and diamond drilling programs;
Strong geological logging and sampling skills;
Sound knowledge of exploration QA/QC procedures;
Experience coordinating drilling contractors and field activities;
Strong safety awareness and the ability to work autonomously;
Clear communication, reporting and organisational skills;
A current Australian C-class driver’s licence;
A willingness to work in a remote field environment; and
Current Australian working rights.

Experience working on Western Australian base-metal exploration programs will be highly regarded.
