An established and high-performing underground gold operation in Western Australia is seeking an experienced Underground Project Crew / Boilermaker to join their team on a FIFO Roster 8:6.
This is a great opportunity for experienced tradespeople looking for project-based work within the mining industry.
The Role:
The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out fabrication, structural and mechanical project works across the mining operation, working as part of a project crew to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out fabrication, repairs and maintenance on mining equipment and infrastructure;
- Perform welding, cutting, grinding and fabrication activities;
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and plans;
- Carry out structural steel installation and modifications;
- Assist with shutdowns, construction and project works;
- Complete repairs and modifications to chutes, tanks, pipework, platforms and other structures;
- Work safely at heights and in confined spaces where required;
- Use hand tools, power tools and welding equipment;
- Conduct pre-starts and equipment inspections;
- Work closely with other trades, supervisors and project personnel;
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and safety;
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site procedures and specifications.
To be successful, you will have:
- Trade qualification as a Boilermaker / Welder;
- Previous experience working in the mining industry;
- Strong fabrication and welding experience;
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings;
- Experience with structural steel and mining equipment repairs;
- Ability to work effectively as part of a project crew;
- Strong commitment to safety;
- Australian Manual C Class Driver’s Licence;
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening;
- Valid working rights in Australia.
