Underground Projects Superintendent

Western Australia

An established and high-performing underground gold operation in Western Australia is seeking an experienced Underground Projects Superintendent to join their team on a FIFO Roster 8:6.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mining projects professional to take on a senior leadership position within an established underground gold operation.

The Role:

The Projects Superintendent will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight across a range of underground mining projects, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule and within budget.

You will work closely with the Mining Manager, Engineering, Maintenance, Processing and operational teams to coordinate project delivery and achieve site objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage underground mining projects from planning through to completion;

  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets and resource requirements;

  • Coordinate contractors, suppliers and internal site teams;

  • Provide strong leadership and direction to project personnel;

  • Ensure projects are delivered safely on time and within budget;

  • Monitor project progress, costs and performance;

  • Identify and manage project risks and operational issues;

  • Coordinate construction, infrastructure and underground project activities;

  • Work closely with Mining, Engineering, Maintenance and Processing departments;

  • Ensure projects comply with site safety, environmental and regulatory requirements;

  • Manage project documentation, reporting and progress updates;

  • Drive continuous improvement and identify opportunities to improve project delivery;

  • Ensure all project activities meet required quality and operational standards;

About You:

To be successful, you will have:

  • Proven experience as a Projects Superintendent, Project Manager or senior mining projects professional;

  • Strong experience within an underground mining environment;

  • Demonstrated experience managing underground mining, infrastructure and capital projects;

  • Strong leadership and people management skills;

  • Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills;

  • Strong understanding of project management principles, budgets and schedules;

  • Ability to manage contractors and multiple stakeholders;

  • Strong focus on safety, quality and project delivery;

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced mining environment;

  • Australian working rights;

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening;

  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
