An established and high-performing underground gold operation in Western Australia is seeking an experienced Underground Long Hole Driller to join their team FIFO on 14-14 Roster.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately drilling long holes to design specifications using mechanised long hole drilling equipment, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, accuracy and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately drill a series of long holes to the required design pattern using a mechanised long hole drill
- Read and accurately follow mine instruction plans
- Drill holes to the required line, gradient and profile
- Complete drilling activities safely, efficiently and to production targets
- Conduct pre-starts and equipment checks
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and equipment care
- Work closely with supervisors, mining crews and other underground personnel
- Identify and report any drilling, ground or equipment issues
- Follow all site safety procedures, standards and instructions
About You
To be successful, you will have:
- Minimum 2 years' experience operating long hole drill rigs
- Solid underground mining background
- Strong operating skills and attention to detail
- Ability to accurately follow mine plans and drilling designs
- Australian Manual C Class Driver's Licence
- National Police Clearance issued within the last 12 months
- Strong commitment to safe work practices
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
- Valid working rights in Australia
