Our client is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Leading Hand to join their team at a modern WA gold operation on a FIFO 8/6 roster.

This is an excellent opportunity to step into a permanent leadership role with a well-established gold producer, providing hands-on electrical and instrumentation support to the Processing Department.

The role would suit an experienced electrician, senior E&I technician or electrical leading hand who enjoys mentoring others, supporting maintenance planning, driving safe work practices and helping improve plant reliability.

Job Requirements:

  • Electrical trade qualification;
  • Current WA Electrical Licence;
  • Previous electrical experience within a mining or processing plant environment;
  • Current National Police Clearance;
  • Current WA C Class Driver’s Licence;
  • Experience with HV switching operations;
  • Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor Certificate;
  • Site appointment as Electrical Supervisor;
  • Sound understanding of fixed plant maintenance and operations;
  • Strong knowledge of electrical statutory requirements, Acts and legislation;
  • Knowledge of Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations;
  • Sound knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems;
  • Good computer literacy, including Pronto and Microsoft Office;
  • Effective communication and time management skills;
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork;
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.

Highly Regarded:

  • In-house Electrical Nominee experience;
  • Certificate IV in Instrumentation;
  • Low Voltage Rescue / CPR;
  • Senior First Aid;
  • Crane, dogging, EWP or forklift tickets.

Position Duties:

  • Lead, mentor and provide guidance to the electrical team across fixed plant maintenance activities.
  • Provide electrical and instrumentation support to the Processing Department, including HV, LV and process control systems.
  • Assist with work packs, risk assessments, isolation planning and scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with mining regulations, electrical legislation and site safety procedures.
  • Drive preventative maintenance, fault finding and timely equipment repairs to improve plant reliability.
  • Support planned shutdowns, breakdown response and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, labour allocation, work orders and requisitions for parts and materials.
  • Participate in toolbox meetings, investigations, audits, training and site safety initiatives.
  • Identify and manage workplace hazards and risks to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Participate in an on-call roster as required.
Experience
Minimum 3 years experience in Gold Processing Plants.
