We are currently seeking a Planning Engineer to join the Technical Services Team. This integral role will see you being responsible for providing input into the development of the mine plan and various other projects. This role is residential, and based in Mount Isa.
The successful candidate will provide input for a number of different sections, such as business plan designs, scheduling, concepts and infrastructure design, detailed costing into business plans and annual reconciliation of plans to budget. You will need to work collaboratively with other departments to provide input in the development of project proposals, including assisting with the development of the life of mine and block cost model. In every instance, safety will be at the forefront of each activity and play an essential role in your planning and designs. A strong and clear communication style will be necessary to be able to effectively deal with a number of stakeholders in the business.
You will also have to possess intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Position Duties:
- A degree in Mining Engineering is imperative along with 3+ years scheduling experience in metalliferous mining.
- Experience in underground mining will be highly desirable, along with being able to competently use mining software packages such as, Deswik and Surpac.
